Food and Drink in Britain

Fried fish and cooked potatoes were first sold in yhe streets of London and other cities in the 1850s, and the first fish and chip shops were opened in the 1860s. The most popular kind of fish used is cod, but other white fish was also used. The fish is cooked in hot fat and is usually eaten with chips on which people put salt and brown vinegar, and/or tomato sauce, or even curry sauce.

I read Food and Drink in Britain. This book is about Britain' s cook! I thought this is worse than Japan. But after reading, I knew that Britain's cook has long history, and it looks delicious. I want to go there and eat a lot!
